Russ Meyer Biography reading -
Reading through the biography of Russ Meyer which started off slow, but fortunately has gotten better. Had no idea that the guy suffered from Alzheimer's towards the end of his life. I will have to say Faster Pussycat Kill Kill is still one of my all time favorite movies. From Beyond the Valley of the Dolls is GREAT too. I've been meaning to watch his other movies, but his estate still has an awful lot of control over his movies & they hardly ever release them on video or DVD. Before Russ died he also wrote an a 6 volume book about his life, but the darn thing is $129. Argh. I doubt any library would actually have this thing.

Heard a snapping sound under the sink a couple of days ago, but I didn't have the heart to take a look & see if a mouse had been caught. I always have traps under there. Anyway...I finally took a look & ugh talk about some icky gore. I'm such a whoose considering all the horror movies I've sat through. Well, least I got him. Ugh. I keep things pretty clean under there though. So gross! I just went ahead and tossed the entire thing in the trash.

Hope everyone is doing well. Today was a beautiful day out. I was broke, but I managed to take myself out on a bike ride & read the Russ Meyer book for hours on end at the local college which happens to be the pretties place here in Turdlock.

Good to hear from you again! I was beginning to wonder...

Did you ever see Meyer's THE SEVEN SECONDS? That was freaky- it tried to be a mainstream picture, but Russ Meyer's Steranko-style editing and color sense made it anything but... it also starred Tom Selleck (as a gay man, I have NEVER understood why anyone found him hot).

Nope. Haven't seen The Seven Seconds. If I can get my hands on it I'd be sure to watch it. Too funny with it starring Tom Selleck which was my mom's big hearthrob back in the day. Dunno why she had such an attraction to closeted gay men. First Richard Chamberlain and now Tom Selleck.

YOUR mother TOO???
Seriously freaky. In fact, my mom has a repulsive more-than-lifesize poster of Tom Selleck in the garage. Yecch.

My boyfriend and I have compiled an entire list of girls-think-they're-hot-but-I-don't-get-it guys, and I can't remember them all, but a short list would have to include Tom Selleck, Sean Connery, and Tom Cruise. Yechh, yechh, and yechh.

I can see no difference between getting hot for them and getting hot for, say, Vic Tayback or Ed Asner.

Re: YOUR mother TOO???
lol. Too funny. A lot of women of a certain age where very hot for Tom. That mustache just creeps me out & makes me think of early 70's gays.

I so agree with you on Tom Cruise & to a certain extent Sean Connery. I think back in his earlier years Sean wasn't so bad.

Mouse traps are probably better thrown out than reused. Would a cat be an option? I mean, assuming you'd want the company. We've had no mice problems since having our two around; the mice know what cats smell like.

Kitties are cool and in fact for awhile we had about 4 or 5 strays living around here that kept the mice away.

Unfortunately, one accidental or fatal leap over the wrong fence & Mr. Pintu eats them up. He's usually a very well, behaved pit, but he just has a bad habit of playing roughly with anything rather small that jumps over the fence. I've seen him eat one of the strays. Poor thing. So uh...maybe cats aren't an option considering I hate indoor litter boxes.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Ah, that makes sense. Mine stay indoors, but they sort of have to to, Shaft is cuddly, but could be brighter.

(I don't like those guys, and I'm female . . . I think they get by on reputation more than actual looks.)
